Here’s some fresh news from Trek World in Madison, Wisconsin: Trek has announced its new Super Commuter model, which appears to offer a direct competitor to the Specialized Turbo.
The Super Commuter is a rigid-frame electric bike powered by a Bosch Performance Line mid-drive motor and features a semi-hidden Bosch battery that’s recessed into the downtube. It also features a set of fenders and rear rack that bear a striking resemblance to the Racktime unit installed on the Stromer ST2.
The bike will be a capable high-speed performer, offering assist up to 28MPH just like Trek’s current XM700+.
The Super Commuter is equipped with a very bright Supernova M99 headlight that was first featured on the Stromer ST2S.
Pricing for the Super Commuter hasn’t been announced, but we’d imagine it’ll fall somewhere in the $2,999 – $3,999 range.
